Chinese Yo-yo Club

Our purpose is to teach, practice, and promote the Chinese yo-yo. The Chinese yo-yo is a juggling toy that was founded during the Ming dynasty. It consists of two equally sized discs connected by an axle. It is kept spinning on its axle so that it can be balanced on a string that is tied to the ends of two hand-held sticks. The yo-yo's freedom from the string allows for a variety of impressive tricks to be performed.

It's also really quick and fun to learn, but difficult to master, making the Chinese yo-yo worth a lifetime of entertainment.

The practice of the Chinese yo-yo has been developed over several centuries. We will contribute by spreading this part of Chinese culture and knowledge through weekly instruction and Cooper's annual performances.
