The Cinema Club will host screenings of movies that have significant impact and value in film culture. The purpose is to educate and entertain members on the content, contexts, techniques, and implications of great movies. For the sake of development, series of screenings will be focused on important directors, such as Stanley Kubrick, and popular genres, such as horror.
Cinema has played a major role in social movements and the spread of ideology and propaganda for as long as it has existed. Knowledge of cinema provides an insight into the social climate of the past and present. Film, the most potent art form of the 20th century, can educate, entertain, and better the lives of those who study it.
