Cooper Dramatic Society

Purpose:

The Cooper Dramatic Society provides students with a creative outlet to complement their academic studies. They are given the opportunity to express themselves through performance in a fun, social environment. This entirely student-run club performs one musical and one non-musical play each year. CDS also gives non-actors a chance to participate through the band and stage tech, including lighting and set design. CDS students learn to communicate confidently and to present themselves theatrically.

Contribution:

Cooper Dramatic Society aims to provide a fun and expressive outlet for art, architecture, and engineering students, uniting an otherwise segregated student body. The plays that we perform create entertainment for the entire Cooper community, raising overall morale and giving students a fun way to take a break from the rigors of a Cooper Union education.
