ACM is the world's oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society. Since 1947 ACM has provided a vital forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and discoveries. Today, ACM serves a membership of more than 80,000 computing professionals in more than 100 countries in all areas of industry, academia, and government.
The Cooper Union chapter of the Association for Computer Machinery promotes learning about computers and the lifestyles of Computer Professionals. We hold various computer related workshops throughout the year on topics including web design, encryption, and programming. On some occasions, guest speakers are invited to speak on computer related issues. Every year, we participate in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition and host video game nights for students to come and interact socially with one another.
