Locks & Locksmithing

Purpose:

To provide a way for students who are interested in locks to further their education about mechanical and electronic security systems and their vulnerabilities. Lectures/discussions would cover the concepts behind most standard keyed locking systems (pin-tumbler, disc detainer, tubular, etc.), as well as a number of other systems, including RFID-based locks and combination locks. Meetings would also involve, where possible, an opportunity to examine and physically manipulate these locks.

Contribution:

This club is unique in providing an opportunity for students to learn about the physical security that they depend on.
